Book Signing Event “The Whistleblower”

On Saturday, September 24th, between 13.00 and 15.00, Kathryn Bolkovac, author of the phenomenal book “The Whistleblower”, released in the Dutch language as “Klokkenluider in Bosnie”, will be at Latte’s and Literature for a book signing session.

At great risk to her personal safety, Kathryn unravelled the ugly truth about officers involved in human trafficking and forced prostitution and their connections to private mercenary contractors, the UN, and the U.S. State Department. Kathryn was demoted, threatened with bodily harm, was fired, and ultimately forced to flee the country under cover of darkness—bringing the incriminating documents with her. “The Whistleblower” tells her true story.

For this special occasion we will not only have the English edition of the book in stock, the Dutch edition of the book will also be available at the store.

Cowboys & Aliens Contest

Universal Pictures has been so kind to come up with a follow-up contest. This time it concerns the blockbuster action and adventure movie “Cowboys & Aliens” starring Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford which will play in local cinemas and IMAX theatres everywhere as of August 25th. Go to www.cowboysandaliens.nl for more information on this terrific movie.

As for the question you’ll need to find the answer to…

Ronald and Cindy have read a great number of books over the last few years. However, Ronald read a book this year, which not only deserved a high spot on his list of all-time favorites, but its synopsis will undoubtedly make you think of the title of the movie “Cowboys & Aliens”.

What is the title of this highly original book and the name of the author?

To make things a bit easier this time, as opposed to the Captain America contest, the answer can be found somewhere on our website.

The first five people to get the question right will win a couple of awesome “Cowboys & Aliens” prizes. E-mail your answer to info@lattesandliterature.com and we’ll be sure to get back to you as soon as possible to let you know if you’re a winner.

Captain America: The First Avenger Contest

Last week’s “Captain America” contest was a big success. To clear up the mysteries surrounding who my favorite hero from the Marvel brand may be I will go ahead and post the answer right here.

Since I asked for a favorite hero, not only did I take care of all the possible villains, but I also took all superheroes from the list of possibilities. Considering a lot of the books I read tend to lean towards the horror/thriller/hack-and-slash genre there is really only one character that fits the description to a T.

The answer to the question is “Punisher”.

Captain America: The First Avenger contest

Universal Pictures has been so kind to provide us with a number of very cool prizes for a contest regarding the release of the blockbuster movie “Captain America: The First Avenger”, which is playing in theatres everywhere as we speak, also in 3D. More info on the movie can be found at www.captain-america.nl

The first 5 people to get the answer to the following question right will be awarded with the Captain America package:

Which hero from the Marvel Universe is Ronald’s (yours truly) favorite?

To help you out a bit, the answer is not Captain America or Spider-Man and if you carefully read the question and you’re familiar with me and the books I read or the movies I watch, you can really only come to one logical conclusion.

E-mail your answer to info@lattesandliterature.com and we’ll get back to you to let you know if and when you can drop by the store to pick up your prize.

Good luck everyone!
